HELP THE HEDGEHOG The nights are drawing in and temperatures decreasing. Soon Hedgehogs will look for hibernation sites for the winter. Hedgehogs are very useful allies for gardeners having a hearty appetite for Slugs and Snails. They are also decreasing in numbers, so they are worth trying to help.
Hedgehogs can be vulnerable to predators such as Foxes during winter hibernation, so a well designed and sturdy Hedgehog house should be used.
Cheap plywood ones may not last as long as timber ones. The timber should also be made from sustainable sources.
