An attractive and easy to grow plant, needing full sun on a south or west facing window or greenhouse.
The long leaves are covered in tentacles, each carrying a globule of sticky digestive glue.
Insects are attracted by the sweet smell and the light glistening on the dew and once stuck, find it very hard to escape.
The tentacles wrap over the insect and the whole leaf may curl around it. It forms a bushy plant up to 15 cm high with pretty pink flowers on long stalks. Catches Sciarid fly, moths, small house flies and Daddy long legs. Culitvation; Stand in full sun in a saucer of rainwater or soft water. The plant can be outside in the summer. Always water with rainwater or distilled water.
