Wormeries use composting worms to quickly convert kitchen and other waste into rich compost. The compost and liquid feed, once diluted, can be applied to plants and seedlings.
The Can-o-Worms includes a moisture mat under a close fitting lid to help keep the worms insulated and moist. Kitchen waste is piled into the top tray where the hungry worms will congregate, consuming up to half their body weight in one day! A middle tray contains the well worked waste which the worms have mostly finished with and therefore migrated through holes in the base of the trays up to the next level. The bottom tray holds the fully composted waste, empty of worms and ready for harvesting. Simply remove the tray and empty out the rich, dark compost, relocating this empty tray onto the top of the stack. The base layer contains a sump which collects liquid plant feed, accessible via a tap.
The extremely popular Can-O-Worms kit has been designed from the ground up as a superior wormery. It's innovative layered structure lets you see at a glance how the worms are doing and makes it easy to harvest the compost. It is made from re-cycled plastic and includes:
