Insect eating birds are a very valuable source of natural pest control; blackbirds and thrushes search out slugs and snails to eat; blue tits eat hundreds of caterpillars and green woodpeckers will eat ants in the grass of lawns. The decline in woodland areas and older trees means there are fewer nesting sites for over 60 species of birds, which use old trees for their nests. Putting up an artificial nest box will help future generations of birds and give much pleasure derived from observing them.
Handcrafted from solid sustainably grown timber,in our UK workshops, this new design has been created specifically for Sparrows.
The Just Sparrow Terrace enables sparrows to nest in colonies, which they prefer. These popular birds have been in decline in recent times. This nest is one way of helping to arrest their decline.
